Busy month!!!

Ok so the month is half over and this is my first post. To sort of recap and post amazing pictures by Reno and some very bad ones from my cell phone:

Tournaments were underway for all three of our teams. Both E & M got out the first game - single elimination - but really gave the other team a run for their money. Mark's team lost by 1 run with 2 outs already made and just barely missed the runner at home. It was awesome. Ella played a tough game as well with her tball team and scored runs and made outs playing first base.

Lily's team won the first round of the tournament and lost the championship game by 2. It was an amazing game to end an amazing season!

Before Lily even played her championship game, Mark was asked to fill in for a travel ball team. He played so well during the tournament they have asked him to play in their state tournament and World Series!

Then my girls' (Lily's team) season came to an end and we had our team party. I have coached some of these girls for 5 seasons and will miss them dearly. They made me the most incredible gift. I got a signed picture of all of them and a memory book with individual notes from each player. As a coach you get out there and do what you do and you don't realize how much of an impact you have on the girls. I didn't realize this until reading a note in this memory book, but one of my player's mom told me that her daughter had given up on softball completely and she only played one more season because her mom begged her. She spoke about how much I changed her view of the sport completely. This player is an all star. She is my clean up batter and just made the high school team. She will go on to play college ball. For all the coaches out there like me who take pride in what you do, who show these girls the respect and care they need - keep it up! It is appreciated even if we don't find out about it until years later. My team this season was amazing. They worked hard and came out on top!
