Black Friday

Happy Black Friday!

This morning Mark and I were up at 3:40 and out the door by 4:00 a.m. Our first stop was Walmart, then over to Target and Toys R Us. After that I was able to get Mark an earlier appointment to get his final shot.

Tonight we went to Dave & Cindy's for another Yummy Thanksgiving dinner! After that we trimmed the tree. It was a fun night.

Another exhausting evening for Mark :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

We hope everyone had a Great Thanksgiving!

We had a great one! First we went over to Jim & Reno's then went to Judy's for pie. We were a bit too full for pie, but it was great to visit. Here are a few pictures from the visits.

Haven't had a picture of Lily up in a while. Here's a picture from tonight and a video of Mark laughing at the dogs.

Quick update on Mark and Lily

I called Lily and she is feeling a "little" better which probably means I'm so much better but want you to still baby me :) which i'll give her lots of love as soon as she comes home tomorrow!

Mark is not doing as well. Turns out the second and stronger round of antibiotics didn't take care of his infections, so we are now trying a third and even stronger round of shots. He got his first one tonight and did well. He was so smiley and happy at the dr. no one could tell he was sick. I took this video of him because while we were playing on the table he figured out how to clap. It was absolutely adorable...he is a pro at clapping items together, but never just hands. Well we were playing and he sat up and clapped and looked at his hands and smiled the biggest smile like he was so proud of himself. I Wish i had my camera! I scurried to grab my phone and got the end of him clapping (darn!) but you can see how happy he is :)

Hey Mom - I'm sorry I missed your call. I will try to call you tomorrow morning. We had Girl Scouts tonight and didn't get through until 8 p.m.

Love you!

Since its been so long, here is an update...

Weekend:

Our weekend was great. Jim had Saturday and Sunday off, so it was a great family weekend. I was sick, but started feeling a little better and was able to go shopping for a bit. Lily got sick and is now down with strep and a sinus infection. We have meds in her as of last night, so hopefully she'll be feeling well soon! I did get an early Christmas present. I really didn't want anything, but if I was going to get something it was going to be practical.

It's awesome! I lost a breath at the price, but since I like to vacuum everyday, it's just the best solution for me. I love it!
Monday was a great day. I was feeling like a new person. I had to bring Lily to work with me for a bit, but Grandma Judy was so nice and picked her up for me even though she is also sick. We went to the dr and now she's home sick. Mark is also going back to the dr. today. Dr. Rosser is awesome by the way. I can't say enough about him! Tonight is Girl Scouts. Since Lily is super contagious, she'll stay with Carl and Jim and I will go as planned. The girls collected items for a Children's home, so we'll be delivering that stuff.
We have great Thanksgiving dinners planned. I love spending time with family and eating turkey...nothing is better :)
Friday I'll be one of the crazies out shopping at midnight. I know Kohls opens at 4:00 a.m. for sure. Hopefully I'll catch some great deals!
This weekend will be more shopping and then some charity work. We have a woman's battered home that I'm buying for and we're making Christmas Garland tonight for a Christmas tree in town square.
I can't believe it's the last week of November! I hope each and every one of you have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Love you!

Happy Friday!

I sent out most of my Thanksgiving day cards this past week, but the rest were sitting in my car waiting for stamps. I know you will all receive them by Thanksgiving :)

I went to the dr on Tuesday and it turns out I have walking pneumonia. I have been laying low all week. I had a chest xray today and i'm not completely over it, but I'm a lot better than I was. Thank you to everyone who sent me get well wishes! I really appreciate you thinking about me. I had a shot of steroids as well as an IV with stronger antibiotics today. I will be feeling better real soon!

Mark isn't over his ear infections and cold. Dr. Rosser gave us stronger meds, but went ahead and gave him his boosters and flu shot. I can't risk him getting the flu.

I will post some pictures this weekend!

Much love to everyone!

Mark on the computer.

I had a really cute video of Mark pounding the keys of my new laptop, but I had to share this one. I took about 3 subsequent videos and this was the last one. He cracks me up. He isn't phased by the fact that I took it away, he just sees it as a challenge. Kind of like "Oh yea, Mom? Watch me"

Weekend Fun

Lily had a fantastic weekend. When we arrived home from school and work on Friday, she had a Giant activity book in the mail. She was very excited! Thank you, Grandma Grandma :) On Saturday, we started the morning off going to a consignment sale. We planned on going to a Christmas Village, but it was a bit too cold, so we headed off to Chuck E Cheese's so the kids could play inside. After that we went to a birthday party for a classmate of Lily's. After that, we came home. Mark wasn't feeling that great.

Sunday we had pancakes for breakfast and then went shopping. Mark didn't sleep well at all Saturday night and his fever spiked Sunday morning. Poor little guy. We have a follow up appointment scheduled for Tuesday already. I may have to call tomorrow if his fever doesn't go down. I took this picture about 30 minutes ago. Smiling as always!

I hope you had a great weekend!

Love to all!

Lily's Report Card

Lily is graded by S - Satisfactory, E - Excelling, and I - Needs Improvement

She received 3 or 4 E's and the rest were S plus's. I'm really not going to count her report card at this time because I believe her teacher to be slightly unfair. Any child who reads 3 grade levels above, should not receive any sort of Satisfactory in reading comprehension and phonics. I didn't even show Lily, I just told her she did a great job.

Lily got a special dinner last night for doing a great job on her Report card! She is my briliant child :)

My Favoritest Day!

By the time you see this, it should be Friday! My favoritest day! I wanted to post this tonight so I get my work finished so I can leave! After working 10 hours and 41 minutes on Thursday, I've decided that I deserve some much needed mommy time. I know its hard on them when I drop them off at 6:15 a.m. and barely make it to the daycare by 6:00 p.m.

We have a great weekend planned! We have lots of fun with friends and family planned.

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Love to All!

Thankful Thursday

As I look at website after website for the perfect Christmas gifts for my family, I realize how absolutely Thankful I am to be in a position to afford gifts or anything extra for that matter. This economy has hurt a lot of lives and unfortunately I am witness to it everyday at work. I can't tell you how many folks with degrees, years and years of experience and even a CPA can't find work at a decent wage or worse...can't find work at all. It makes me sad. I wish I could find each and every one of them a job. I had a candidate grateful I found her a $10/hour position for 3 days. It makes me feel completely selfish to keep any extra money I make. I have had my share of living on unemployment, spouse having two jobs and eating Ramen noodles for dinner. It's just something you do from time to time, but it isn't the ideal.

This year I will be sharing Christmas with a few charities and hopefully adopting a family. I will have Lily come with me to a children's home and the children's hospital to deliver some goodies. I think she's understand the true meaning of Christmas :)

I am extremely thankful for everything I have. Thank you for my car and my house and my job and my family and my health. I'm thankful I can go buy a shirt or go get a pedicure because i'm having a bad day. I'm thankful I can buy food everyday because I can't seem to remember to bring my lunch to work. I'm thankful I can afford multiple dr appointments because my children get strep & ear infections. I'm thankful I don't have to look at my bank account often because a month will go by and I will completely forget. I am thankful I don't have any worries right now, so I can focus my time on helping others because that's what I would be doing anyway.

To everyone struggling, I am so very sorry and I just hope that things turn around really soon! It's not happening to every industry, that's why my company is so successful. I have lots of advice, I can write a resume, I can teach computer skills, I can give interviewing tips...I wish I could do more and would definitely try! Don't give up! Its going to turn around soon.

Happy Wednesday!

Good Afternoon!

I hope everyone is having a fantastic week! I finished having lunch with Reno and leaving the office for even 30 minutes puts me in the best mood...especially when having lunch with someone awesome. I definitely need to get out more! :)

Tonight should be a great make chili, stay at home and snuggle up and watch Narnia Prince Caspian kind of night.

Mark is feeling much better and Lily is super happy and having a great time in Girl Scouts. Last night we learned about manners and how important they are. For our November community project I chose a children's home in Murfreesboro. I'm going to have Lily earn money by doing chores then we'll go to the grocery and she can pick out the goods she wants to buy for them. She's excited.

That's about it on the Morgan front.

More to come tomorrow...

Happy Friday!

I missed my Thankful Thursday post.

I am thankful that I have a great sense of awareness. As cynical as I may have gotten throughout the years, I still remain optimistic. No matter how busy I am, I always make sure to let everyone I care about know I'm thinking about them. Whether its via phone or email or even card, I'm never too busy to find 5 minutes. Nothing is that stressful, nothing is TOO difficult, Nothing keeps someone that busy where you're on the go 24/7. I have a job 2 hours away in traffic, 2 kids, ballet, tap, girl scouts, homework, infant needs, friends, family, a wonderful life...Sure I'm busy, but who isn't! I definitely don't think I'm too busy for anyone. If I get to a place where I'm moving so fast that I have 5 voicemails from three days ago, I stop and take a moment. Everyone needs a reality check every now and then and luckily I can give myself one. I am a positive person and I always look on the brighter side of things. Life is life...maybe its not fair, but hey you may as well enjoy it! What is complaining all the time going to do except bring others down? There are too many awesome things in this world!

For all of my family - You are the best family anyone can ask for! I am so incredibly fortunate to have each and every one of you in my life. I can't even believe how lucky I am to have married into a wonderful family twice. Thanks for always being there, even if it was just to ask how the weather is. I value the time we spend together.

For my friends - You are all just awesome! You are my family. I know how fortunate I am to have found wonderful people to share things with. Not many people are lucky enough to have even one very close friend and I have so many close/best friends.

Thank you.

Happy Friday everyone! Enjoy your day and weekend!!! It's a beautiful rainy day here in Nashville, Tennessee...my network is down, my phones don't work, but hey at least I have a banana nut muffin to enjoy. Find your banana nut muffin.

Mark's 6 month check up

Weight: 16 pounds (40th percentile)
Height: 25 inches (25th percentile)

He had an ear infection so he will have his booster shots & flu shot in two weeks if the infection goes away. Poor little guy. The dr thinks that may be contributing to his discomfort and lack of desire to eat.

He's definitely not a big guy and now has fallen on the shorter side. But good news is he's developing right on track.

Happy Election Day!

Lily had the day off school, so she was able to be see Democracy at its best. Up bright and early and out by the time the polls opened, we stood in line for a mere 90 minutes. Completely worth it, but I may consider early voting next time. Lily is excited for her chance when she turns 18. :) That's my girl!

Today I'll be working from home, then at 4:00 I'm taking the kids to the dr. I was able to get Lily in to get her flu shot. Should be a fun day.

Happy Voting all!

Happy 6 months, Mark!

Yes, I'm a day late. Oops!

**Will add picture when I upload it**

Happy 6 months, Mark!

What are you doing?
  • Sitting up completely unassisted
  • Scooting around the floor, although does not prefer to be on his stomach
  • Very verbal...starting to understand sign language and is really close to saying words
  • Expresses unhappiness when things are taken away as well as when Mommy is not holding him.
  • Possibly teething his top teeth (poor guy)
  • Good hand coordination...able to pass things from hand to hand, picks up objects, looks for toys he dropped, recognizes favorite toys.

Still such a happy baby. We can tell when he's not feeling well, but he still smiles through the pain. He hasn't been sleeping through the night for about a week and he didn't eat much this weekend. Tomorrow is his 6 month appointment, so we'll find out his weight, length and figure out what's wrong.

He enjoyed his first Halloween. Just another day to see all the people he loves :)
