Saturday morning we started off at the Race for the Cure in honor of Marissa and all of the other breast cancer survivors & ones defeated. Picture below of the folks from my office & a few of us brought our family :)
Later the kids left for Grandma & Papa's for an evening of fun while Jim and I headed to the zoo for our final volunteer evening.

Weekend Fun

Good Morning All!

Today is Monday, October 24th and it's about 60 degrees in Nashville, BUT they said it was going to get up to around 75 today. I seriously feel bad for letting my son talk me into letting him wear a flannel shirt and long pants and should have been a better parent by pushing harder towards a short sleeve cotton tee, but instead I took the high road and said "FINE, wear that shirt, sweat all day if you want!" Yep...one of those mornings.

The weekend was great. We carved pumpkins, went to the zoo, had our family pictures made and I even got in a little bit of cleaning. I unpacked 12 boxes...TWELVE! You may be thinking "you've lived there how long now?" Yes, I know I've been in the house 3 months - almost 4, but it is a lot harder unpacking boxes and finding places for everything. 4 hours spent on Saturday solely to the office and it is almost box-less. It feels amazing. Todays chore day may be more than my usual 30 minutes, but it is worth it to pick up the slack from the weekend.

Saturday evening was spent carving pumpkins. We met Camila's new boyfriend, Matt and he joined us in the fun activity. Sunday we woke up early and headed over to Oakland's Mansion where we met Kate for family pictures. We finished up the day at the zoo and the kids were in bed by 9:30.

Pictures below from our fun weekend.

This is Jim & my pumpkin :) He said draw the face and he would cut it. He didn't tell me what kind of face to draw...

Happy Friday!

Good Afternoon!

I hope everyone is having a fantastic day! Today is Friday, October 21st and it is 61 degrees in Nashville. Nice and sunny, no clouds in the sky.

All the airlines were having an amazing deal, so I bought my tickets to go visit Mom. It will be a great trip. I will be arriving on Saturday afternoon and flying back on Wednesday. There won't be much time for visiting everyone, but I will do what I can. My main goal was to go see Mom and help her out, so I will definitely be able to do that!

Lily is receiving an award today for test scores & behavior. She was really excited about that this morning. Mark & Ella are doing great in school. Mark is such a charmer. Everyone just loves him, so even when he's bad - its almost ok. Remind you of anyone? ;)

Jim has to work tomorrow, so the kids and I will hang out until he gets home. We may go to the zoo (love our membership) or we may just relax. On Sunday we are going to have our family pictures made by my favorite Kate. Should be a great weekend!

I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday & weekend!

What? 2 posts in one week?

I noticed something on a call the other day. The single most asked question by a family or friend who resides in another state is definitely "How's the weather?" So I've decided to start off each post with a short notation of the weather.

Today is Wednesday, October 19th and currently in the city of Murfreesboro, Tennessee it is 46 degrees and rainy. I believe our high today may have hit 50, so yes it has been a bit on the chilly side. I even broke out the heater blanket.

Today I picked the kids up, made some dinner, watched some "You Got Mail", gave the kids a bath, put the kids to bed and now as Jim is cleaning windows at our old house, I find myself with 10 minutes of just nothingness. How wonderful. I found a trick to get Ella to take a bite of her food....tell her we are giving the food to Mark. Nothing turns a "I don't want it anymore" to "MINE!" quicker than offering it up to your older brother. Love it. It's the simple things :)

Lily's school picture came in. Grandmas & Grandpas will be receiving a 5X7 in the mail soon. Some of you should have received a Halloween card in the mail. Yay for me for getting them out this year. I was really worried, but I pulled out the super mom in me for one late evening and got it made, sent for 1 hour delivery and had them picked up. I love sending cards...almost as therapeutic as shopping.

Time to get some laundry done. Have a fantastic evening!

Cheers!

In honor of one of my favorite holidays...

I've changed the template.

Happy Haunting!

Is it October already?

I know I know....you've been checking just about everyday and disappointment sets in as you realize it's gone yet another day/month since I've posted. I'm sorry! Instead of telling you how much better I'm going to be, I'm just going to say I'll post when I can and maybe this will turn into the regular basis it once was. ....Here's hoping!

Updates:  Jim had a birthday. Happy Birthday, honey! Lily had fall break. Jim & I just volunteered for the first weekend of Halloween at the zoo & I should be done traveling for work for the rest of the year.

Right now i'm working on the Halloween card, so look for that in the mail soon!

Until then, here are some pictures from the last month :)
