Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for everything I have in my life. For my family, my friends, our jobs and our health. I have a good life and enjoy every moment of it. Life is a bit stressful now, but I'm glad to take a moment, slow down and realize that in the whole scheme of things, I have a great life.

Thank you!

Lent

I will be celebrating Lent by letting everyone I know how much I appreciate them. In this time of hardship, I see more and more people just so sad and it breaks my heart that the economy is causing most of it. I know I already make a good effort to send Thank you notes and cards, but I will try to not only be more diligent about that but also just sending a smile or saying Hello. I will also try and help others as much as I possibly can.

For everyone who reads my blog, Thank you for caring about my family! You are all so important to me and I appreciate each and every one of you!

Love to All!

The Pfunky Griddle

Saturday my friends and I got our kids together and went to this cute restaurant called the Pfunky Griddle. As you can see in the pictures above there are grills in the middle of each table so you actually cook your own pancakes, french toast, etc. It was a very cute restaurant and a great experience. We had a great time!
After breakfast, we ran over to the Girl Scout store then off to Walmart with Lisha and Riley then it was time for our cookie booth. Lily was the only one from her troop at this booth and although she didn't mutter a word to anyone her smile brought them in and was able to sell 75 boxes in her two hour slot. Sunday was a rough day and I'm assuming it is because she was in the cold on Saturday for two hours. She was in a lot of pain and had to take her narcotic twice. She is doing much better today :)

Healthy Habits

Lily and Mark are doing really well. Lily went back to school on Wednesday and has done a great job. She is a trooper!

Mark is just awesome. He started feeling better 2 days after his surgery. He is so much happier and you can tell he feels great.

Yay for the family being healthy!

Still on the mend...

Lily had to take one more day off work. Don't mind me, but lily looks so adorable here :) She's down another 2 pounds since the surgery. Two more days until she starts getting better. We are looking forward to that day. She's at the point where her ears are really bothering her. She came to work with me for a few hours and now we're home resting.

She's out!

Lily had some "happy" medicine to keep her calm before hand :)

Lily made it through surgery well. Her tonsils were very large and definitely needed to come out. She also had her adenoids removed. She was such a good girl. I am so proud of her. She came out crying a little bit, but I told her it would only hurt her so she stopped. She had a popsicle right away and is now resting at Grandma's house. She will be in a lot of pain over the next 7 days, at least. The dr. mentioned that it was so good we had it taken care of because her tonsils were irregular and basically "caught" all the infections.
OH and Lily lost a tooth right before they took her back!

Lily's turn...

Lily will be going in tomorrow morning to have her tonsils removed. She had her 7th episode of strep in a year and its just getting worse.

I'm very conservative when it comes to surgeries and both probably should have been done sooner. I was very hopeful that Lily would grow out of it, but after tomorrow she will be strep free!

Send us good thoughts tomorrow! :)

The surgery went really well. Dr. Lee said Mark's ears were in very bad shape. He had so much fluid, he said there was no way Mark could even hear out of them. He said he should be feeling so much better and start to walk and talk really soon. Apparently with ears as bad as his, he shouldn't be saying anything nor standing on his own...so Mark is in great shape! I think he just dealt with the cards given and pushed through it :)
He was very upset after surgery, but by the time I got him to Grandma Judy's he was smiling! The whole procedure lasted about 10 minutes tops.

Monday Fun!

A couple of pictures of us enjoying the beautiful weather at a park.

Weekend

Poor Mark had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics given to him after the shots. He is finally doing better today. I am nervous, but looking forward to tomorrow. I know it will be so much better for him.

I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow!

Friday

Another rough night left Mark and I with only 2 and a half hours of sleep. I am still in great spirits today because it's just 4 short days from his surgery and no more pain (for a while at least)

This weekend's agenda includes a birthday party, picking up girl scout cookies (YAY!) and putting all of our furniture back where it goes! Not too exciting, but i'm looking forward to some R&R.

Surgery is scheduled!

A BIG Thank you to Cindy for pulling strings, she was able to get Mark in for surgery quickly! The big day is Tuesday at 7:00 a.m. Say a little prayer for Mark. I'm sure the surgery is quick and painless, but I'm still a bit worried.

Rough Night

Jim picked Mark up from the daycare yesterday and the teacher said he was pulling at his ears all day. He started this last week. He would pull so much he had scratches on the inside of his ears from his nails. Well, last night was awful. He was in so much pain I couldn't even console him. Usually no matter what mommy can make it better and he just couldn't get comfortable. The 20 minutes it took for the tylenol to kick in seemed to last forever. I will be calling the ENT this morning first thing. I have a conference/training call this morning, but hopefully I can make the dr call first. My poor little man :(

Long time...

I know its been a long time between posts...my days have gotten so busy here at work and one of my staff members quit today to pursue her music career, so I foresee it only getting MUCH busier. Here are a couple of cute pictures from this weekend. Sorry they are blurry, they were taken with my phone. But look how cute Mark is and he can stand on his own now!
